Educational brand re-branding - language school chain
Supermemo is a brand and a symbol behind creation of an innovative language teaching method. It has successfully operated on the market for 25 years, selling box, digital (an online application and a website), as well as stationary (language schools) courses. Our task was to make a uniform identification system for a group of brands with an extended matrix, including development of a unique visual style.
Together with the owner and the marketing team of Supermemo, we have performed studies and analysis of the initial situation of the brand. We started our work with refreshing the logotype. We decided to leave the “head full of ideas” symbol and focus only on improvement of the visual layer.
The use of icon (young, lively colours; symbols related to language learning, e.g. headphones and iPod) and creation of icon mosaics was the characteristic element of the KV. We made the mosaics in various ways, e.g. as symbols of the given language (Big Ben, the Brandenburg Gate) or the course type.
We had to face several challenges designing the packagings. The large amount of important information, e.g. the language, the level, matching the KeyVisual, adaptation to student group or the course form (flashcards, CDs, etc.) – all of this had to be included.
Presentation, leaflet, ephemera – designed with the Wow effect and matching the KeyVisual in mind. We focused on creative use of elements characteristic for the brand, while retaining usefulness.
We prepared the designs for the website and for language learning. We have designed a total of over 60 unique and detailed views.
